Scientific and technological advancement has been associated with the progress in chemistry and manufacturing of chemical compounds, which has led to the free access of the public to these compounds and drugs and the parallel rise in the rate of intentional or unexpected poisoning. This has been confirmed by the survey of hospital referrals.

In addition to the presence of chemical compounds in our life, intentional or unexpected exposure to other factors has caused an increase in the rate of poisoning and disabilities, including poisonous animals, natural minerals, poisonous plants and deadly chemical weapons.
